Prayer for Deliverance from Secret Enemies.

For the choir director. A Psalm of David.

1 Hear my voice, O God, in my R1861 complaint; F602

Preserve R1862 my life from dread of the enemy.

2 Hide me from the secret R1863 counsel of evildoers,

From the tumult of those R1864 who do iniquity,

3 Who have R1865 sharpened their tongue like a sword.

They aimed R1866 bitter speech as their arrow,

4 To shoot R1867 from F603 concealment at the blameless;

Suddenly they shoot at him, and do R1868 not fear.

5 They hold F604 fast to themselves an evil purpose;

They talk F605 of laying R1869 snares secretly;

They say, "Who R1870 can see them?"

6 They devise F606 injustices, saying,

"We are ready F607 with a well-conceived plot";

For the inward R1871 F608 thought and the heart of a man are deep. F609

7 But God R1872 will F610 shoot at them with an arrow;

Suddenly they F611 will be wounded.

8 So they F612 will F613 make R1873 him stumble;

Their R1874 own tongue is against them;

All who see them will shake R1875 the head.

9 Then all men will F614 fear, R1876

And they will F615 declare R1877 the work of God,

And will F616 consider what F617 He has done.

10 The righteous man will be glad R1878 in the LORD and will take R1879 refuge in Him;

And all the upright in heart will glory.
