Zechariah 1:7-17 [ Verse 7 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
7 Upon the four and twentieth day of the eleventh * * month, which is the month Sebat, in the second year of Darius, came the word of the LORD unto Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying (8800), 8 I saw (8804) by night, and behold a man riding (8802) upon a red horse, and he stood (8802) among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom; and behind him were there red horses, speckled, and white. 9 Then said (8799) I, O my lord, what are these? And the angel that talked (8802) with me said (8799) unto me, I will shew (8686) thee what these be. 10 And the man that stood (8802) among the myrtle trees answered (8799) and said (8799), These are they whom the LORD hath sent (8804) to walk (8692) to and fro through the earth. 11 And they answered (8799) the angel of the LORD that stood (8802) among the myrtle trees, and said (8799), We have walked to and fro (8694) through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still (8802), and is at rest (8802). 12 Then the angel of the LORD answered (8799) and said (8799), O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy (8762) on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation (8804) these threescore and ten years? 13 And the LORD answered (8799) the angel that talked (8802) with me with good words and comfortable words. 14 So the angel that communed (8802) with me said (8799) unto me, Cry (8798) thou, saying (8800), Thus saith (8804) the LORD of hosts; I am jealous (8765) for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. 15 And I am very sore displeased (8804) with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased (8802), and they helped (8804) forward the affliction. 16 Therefore thus saith (8804) the LORD; I am returned (8804) to Jerusalem with mercies: my house shall be built (8735) in it, saith (8803) the LORD of hosts, and a line * (8675) shall be stretched forth (8735) upon Jerusalem. 17 Cry (8798) yet, saying (8800), Thus saith (8804) the LORD of hosts; My cities through prosperity shall yet be spread abroad (8799); and the LORD shall yet comfort (8765) Zion, and shall yet choose (8804) Jerusalem.
