As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God. (Psalm 42:1)

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? (Psalm 42:2)

My tears have been my food day and night, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" (Psalm 42:3)

These things I remember and I pour out my soul within me. For I used to go along with the throng and lead them in procession to the house of God, With the voice of joy and thanksgiving, a multitude keeping festival. (Psalm 42:4)

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence. (Psalm 42:5)

O my God, my soul is in despair within me; Therefore I remember You from the land of the Jordan And the peaks of Hermon, from Mount Mizar. (Psalm 42:6)

Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me. (Psalm 42:7)

The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life. (Psalm 42:8)

I will say to God my rock, "Why have You forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?" (Psalm 42:9)

As a shattering of my bones, my adversaries revile me, While they say to me all day long, "Where is your God?" (Psalm 42:10)

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 42:11)

Vindicate me, O God, and plead my case against an ungodly nation; O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man! (Psalm 43:1)

For You are the God of my strength; why have You rejected me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? (Psalm 43:2)

O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places. (Psalm 43:3)

Then I will go to the altar of God, To God my exceeding joy; And upon the lyre I shall praise You, O God, my God. (Psalm 43:4)

Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God. (Psalm 43:5)

O God, we have heard with our ears, Our fathers have told us The work that You did in their days, In the days of old. (Psalm 44:1)

You with Your own hand drove out the nations; Then You planted them; You afflicted the peoples, Then You spread them abroad. (Psalm 44:2)

For by their own sword they did not possess the land, And their own arm did not save them, But Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your presence, For You favored them. (Psalm 44:3)

You are my King, O God; Command victories for Jacob. (Psalm 44:4)

Through You we will push back our adversaries; Through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us. (Psalm 44:5)

For I will not trust in my bow, Nor will my sword save me. (Psalm 44:6)

But You have saved us from our adversaries, And You have put to shame those who hate us. (Psalm 44:7)

In God we have boasted all day long, And we will give thanks to Your name forever. Selah. (Psalm 44:8)

Yet You have rejected us and brought us to dishonor, And do not go out with our armies. (Psalm 44:9)

You cause us to turn back from the adversary; And those who hate us have taken spoil for themselves. (Psalm 44:10)

You give us as sheep to be eaten And have scattered us among the nations. (Psalm 44:11)

You sell Your people cheaply, And have not profited by their sale. (Psalm 44:12)

You make us a reproach to our neighbors, A scoffing and a derision to those around us. (Psalm 44:13)

You make us a byword among the nations, A laughingstock among the peoples. (Psalm 44:14)

All day long my dishonor is before me And my humiliation has overwhelmed me, (Psalm 44:15)

Because of the voice of him who reproaches and reviles, Because of the presence of the enemy and the avenger. (Psalm 44:16)

All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You, And we have not dealt falsely with Your covenant. (Psalm 44:17)

Our heart has not turned back, And our steps have not deviated from Your way, (Psalm 44:18)

Yet You have crushed us in a place of jackals And covered us with the shadow of death. (Psalm 44:19)

If we had forgotten the name of our God Or extended our hands to a strange god, (Psalm 44:20)

Would not God find this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart. (Psalm 44:21)

But for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. (Psalm 44:22)

Arouse Yourself, why do You sleep, O Lord? Awake, do not reject us forever. (Psalm 44:23)

Why do You hide Your face And forget our affliction and our oppression? (Psalm 44:24)

For our soul has sunk down into the dust; Our body cleaves to the earth. (Psalm 44:25)

Rise up, be our help, And redeem us for the sake of Your lovingkindness. (Psalm 44:26)

My heart overflows with a good theme; I address my verses to the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. (Psalm 45:1)

You are fairer than the sons of men; Grace is poured upon Your lips; Therefore God has blessed You forever. (Psalm 45:2)

Gird Your sword on Your thigh, O Mighty One, In Your splendor and Your majesty! (Psalm 45:3)

And in Your majesty ride on victoriously, For the cause of truth and meekness and righteousness; Let Your right hand teach You awesome things. (Psalm 45:4)

Your arrows are sharp; The peoples fall under You; Your arrows are in the heart of the King's enemies. (Psalm 45:5)

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom. (Psalm 45:6)

You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of joy above Your fellows. (Psalm 45:7)

All Your garments are fragrant with myrrh and aloes and cassia; Out of ivory palaces stringed instruments have made You glad. (Psalm 45:8)

Kings' daughters are among Your noble ladies; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir. (Psalm 45:9)

Listen, O daughter, give attention and incline your ear: Forget your people and your father's house; (Psalm 45:10)

Then the King will desire your beauty. Because He is your Lord, bow down to Him. (Psalm 45:11)

The daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; The rich among the people will seek your favor. (Psalm 45:12)

The King's daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold. (Psalm 45:13)

She will be led to the King in embroidered work; The virgins, her companions who follow her, Will be brought to You. (Psalm 45:14)

They will be led forth with gladness and rejoicing; They will enter into the King's palace. (Psalm 45:15)

In place of your fathers will be your sons; You shall make them princes in all the earth. (Psalm 45:16)

I will cause Your name to be remembered in all generations; Therefore the peoples will give You thanks forever and ever. (Psalm 45:17)

God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; (Psalm 46:2)

Though its waters roar and foam, Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. (Psalm 46:3)

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, The holy dwelling places of the Most High. (Psalm 46:4)

God is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns. (Psalm 46:5)

The nations made an uproar, the kingdoms tottered; He raised His voice, the earth melted. (Psalm 46:6)

The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. (Psalm 46:7)

Come, behold the works of the LORD, Who has wrought desolations in the earth. (Psalm 46:8)

He makes wars to cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariots with fire. (Psalm 46:9)

"Cease striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)

The LORD of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. (Psalm 46:11)

O clap your hands, all peoples; Shout to God with the voice of joy. (Psalm 47:1)

For the LORD Most High is to be feared, A great King over all the earth. (Psalm 47:2)

He subdues peoples under us And nations under our feet. (Psalm 47:3)

He chooses our inheritance for us, The glory of Jacob whom He loves. Selah. (Psalm 47:4)

God has ascended with a shout, The LORD, with the sound of a trumpet. (Psalm 47:5)

Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our King, sing praises. (Psalm 47:6)

For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with a skillful psalm. (Psalm 47:7)

God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne. (Psalm 47:8)

The princes of the people have assembled themselves as the people of the God of Abraham, For the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted. (Psalm 47:9)

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, His holy mountain. (Psalm 48:1)

Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King. (Psalm 48:2)

God, in her palaces, Has made Himself known as a stronghold. (Psalm 48:3)

For, lo, the kings assembled themselves, They passed by together. (Psalm 48:4)

They saw it, then they were amazed; They were terrified, they fled in alarm. (Psalm 48:5)

Panic seized them there, Anguish, as of a woman in childbirth. (Psalm 48:6)

With the east wind You break the ships of Tarshish. (Psalm 48:7)

As we have heard, so have we seen In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God; God will establish her forever. Selah. (Psalm 48:8)

We have thought on Your lovingkindness, O God, In the midst of Your temple. (Psalm 48:9)

As is Your name, O God, So is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness. (Psalm 48:10)

Let Mount Zion be glad, Let the daughters of Judah rejoice Because of Your judgments. (Psalm 48:11)

Walk about Zion and go around her; Count her towers; (Psalm 48:12)

Consider her ramparts; Go through her palaces, That you may tell it to the next generation. (Psalm 48:13)

For such is God, Our God forever and ever; He will guide us until death. (Psalm 48:14)

Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, (Psalm 49:1)

Both low and high, Rich and poor together. (Psalm 49:2)

My mouth will speak wisdom, And the meditation of my heart will be understanding. (Psalm 49:3)

I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will express my riddle on the harp. (Psalm 49:4)

Why should I fear in days of adversity, When the iniquity of my foes surrounds me, (Psalm 49:5)

Even those who trust in their wealth And boast in the abundance of their riches? (Psalm 49:6)

No man can by any means redeem his brother Or give to God a ransom for him-- (Psalm 49:7)

For the redemption of his soul is costly, And he should cease trying forever-- (Psalm 49:8)

That he should live on eternally, That he should not undergo decay. (Psalm 49:9)

For he sees that even wise men die; The stupid and the senseless alike perish And leave their wealth to others. (Psalm 49:10)

Their inner thought is that their houses are forever And their dwelling places to all generations; They have called their lands after their own names. (Psalm 49:11)

But man in his pomp will not endure; He is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm 49:12)

This is the way of those who are foolish, And of those after them who approve their words. Selah. (Psalm 49:13)

As sheep they are appointed for Sheol; Death shall be their shepherd; And the upright shall rule over them in the morning, And their form shall be for Sheol to consume So that they have no habitation. (Psalm 49:14)

But God will redeem my soul from the power of Sheol, For He will receive me. Selah. (Psalm 49:15)

Do not be afraid when a man becomes rich, When the glory of his house is increased; (Psalm 49:16)

For when he dies he will carry nothing away; His glory will not descend after him. (Psalm 49:17)

Though while he lives he congratulates himself-- And though men praise you when you do well for yourself-- (Psalm 49:18)

He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the light. (Psalm 49:19)

Man in his pomp, yet without understanding, Is like the beasts that perish. (Psalm 49:20)
