ABIB (ay' bib) The month of the Exodus deliverance from Egypt (Exodus 13:4) and thus of the Passover festival (Exodus 23:15; Exodus 34:18; Deuteronomy 16:1). A harvest month covering parts of March and April, Abib means, “ears of grain.” Later the month was called Nisan (Esther 3:7). See Calendars.
