CHEMARIM

(chehm' uh rihm) KJV transliteration of Hebrew word meaning, “priests of foreign or false gods” in Zephaniah 1:4. The Hebrew term also appears in 2 Kings 23:5; Hosea 10:5. Zephaniah pronounced God's judgment on priests who served other gods while claiming to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.
