Hebrew - Eldad
ELDAD

(ehl' dad) Personal name meaning, “God loved.” Along with Medad, he was one of seventy elders of Israel God selected to help Moses, but the two did not meet at the tabernacle with the others. Still the Spirit came upon Eldad and Medad in the camp, and they prophesied. Joshua attempted to stop them, but Moses prayed that all God's people might have the Spirit (Numbers 11:16-29). See Prophet; Spirit; Medad
