AHIO

(uh hi' oh) Personal name meaning, “my brother is Yahweh.” See Ahiah, Ahijah. 1. Son of Abinadab at whose house the ark of the covenant was stationed (2 Samuel 6:3). He and his brother Uzzah drove an ox and cart carrying the ark. His brother touched the ark and was killed (2 Samuel 6:6-7). 2. A member of the tribe of Benjamin (1 Chronicles 8:14), but the Septuagint or earliest Greek translation of the Old Testament reads “their brothers” or kinfolk. 3. A member of Benjamin with connections to Gibeon (1 Chronicles 8:31; 1 Chronicles 9:37).
