Modern translation of ornamental work, especially of fine metal wire. KJV reads, “ouches”; REB, “rossettes.” Gold filigree was used in the settings of precious stones (Exodus 28:11,Exodus 28:20;
Exodus 39:6,Exodus 39:13) and as clasps (Exodus 28:13,Exodus 28:25;
Exodus 39:16,Exodus 39:18) for clothing or jewelry. The design in Exodus was likely a rosette or simple floral pattern.
