Hebrew - Akrabbim, ascent of Akrabbim
AKRABBIM

(ak rawb' bihm) Place name meaning, “scorpions.” The “ascent of Akrabbim” lies southwest of the Dead Sea forming the southern border of Canaan (Numbers 34:4; Joshua 15:3; Judges 1:36). It is a mountain pass on the road southeast of Beersheba, today called Neqb es-Safa. Recent study has found the Scorpion Pass mentioned in other Near Eastern literature.
