(jay' ahr) Place name meaning, “forest.” Modern versions' transliteration of Hebrew in
Psalms 132:6 (TEV reads, Jearim, a plural form.) KJV translates, “wood.” Jaar is probably a poetic abbreviation for Kiriath-jearim. See Kiriath-jearim. The Psalm celebrates David's returning the ark to Jerusalem from its Philistine captivity (compare
