A weapon consisting of a long shaft with a metal head; javelin; spear (Judges 5:8, NEB:
1 Kings 18:28, NAS, RSV;
Jeremiah 50:42, KJV). In modern English, a lancet is a two-edged surgical instrument. The KJV used lancet for a small lance (1 Kings 18:28). See Arms, Armor; Weapons.
