The upper leg or thigh was regarded as the one of the choicest parts of a sacrifice and was reserved for the priests (Leviticus 7:32-34). The first term translated leg in
Isaiah 47:2 (KJV) is also translated robe (NRSV) or shirt(s) (NAS, NIV, REB).
