NEPHEW

1. The son of one's brother or sister. KJV never used nephew in this sense. NAS and NIV used nephew in this sense for Lot (Genesis 12:5; Genesis 14:12). 2. When KJV was translated, nephew was used in the broader sense of a lineal descendant, especially a grandson (Judges 12:14; Job 18:19; Isaiah 14:22; 1 Timothy 5:4).
