(ahch' sshaf) or ACSHAPH (NIV) Place name meaning, “place of sorcery.” City state which joined Jabin, King of Hazor, in opposing Joshua as he invaded northern Israel (Joshua 11:1). Achshaph was a border city for Asher (Joshua 19:25). It was probably located near Acco, but its precise location is not known.
