1 Timothy 6:13-21 [ Verse 15 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
13 I give thee charge (5719) in the sight of God, who quickeneth (5723) all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed (5660) a good confession; 14 That thou keep (5658) this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew (5692), who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings (5723), and Lord of lords (5723); 16 Who only hath (5723) immortality, dwelling (5723) in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen (5627), nor can (5736) see (5629): to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen. 17 Charge (5720) them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded (5721), nor trust (5760) in uncertain riches, but in the living (5723) God, who giveth (5723) us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good (5721), that they be rich (5721) in good works, ready to distribute * (5750), willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store (5723) for themselves a good foundation against the time to come (5723), that they may lay hold on (5638) eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep (5657) that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding (5734) profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing (5740) have erred (5656) concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen. [The first to Timothy was written (5648) from Laodicea, which is (5748) the chiefest city of Phrygia Pacatiana.]
