Paul's Apostolic Ministry

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, R116 as we received R117 mercy, we do R118 not lose heart, 2 but we have renounced the things R119 hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating R120 the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending R121 ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3 And even if our gospel R122 is veiled, R123 it is veiled to F23 those R124 who are perishing, 4 in whose case the R125 god of this R126 world F24 has blinded R127 the minds of the unbelieving so F25 that they might not see the light R128 of the gospel of the glory R129 of Christ, who is the image R130 of God. 5 For we do R131 not preach ourselves but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your bond-servants for F26 Jesus' sake. 6 For God, who said, "Light R132 shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone R133 in our hearts to give the Light R134 of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.

7 But we have this treasure in earthen R135 vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the R136 power will be of God and not from ourselves; 8 we are afflicted R137 in every way, but not crushed; R138 perplexed, R139 but not despairing; 9 persecuted, R140 but not forsaken; R141 struck R142 down, but not destroyed; 10 always R143 carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the R144 life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 11 For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. 12 So death works in us, but life in you.

13 But having the same spirit R145 of faith, according to what is written, "I R146 BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE," we also believe, therefore we also speak, 14 knowing that He who raised R147 the Lord Jesus will R148 raise us also with Jesus and will present R149 us with you. 15 For all things are for R150 your sakes, so that the grace which is spreading R151 F27 to more and more people may cause the giving of thanks to abound to the glory of God.

16 Therefore we do R152 not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner R153 man is being R154 renewed day by day. 17 For momentary, light R155 affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 18 while we look R156 not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
