Man of Lawlessness

1 Now we request you, brethren, R31 with regard to the coming R32 F10 of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering R33 together to Him, 2 that you not be quickly shaken from your composure F11 or be disturbed either by a spirit R34 or a message R35 F12 or a letter R36 as if from us, to the effect that the R37 day of the Lord has R38 come. 3 Let R39 no one in any way deceive you, for it will not come unless the apostasy R40 F13 comes first, and the man R41 of lawlessness is revealed, the son R42 of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above every R43 F14 so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying R44 himself as being God. 5 Do you not remember that while R45 I was still with you, I was telling you these things? 6 And you know what R46 restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. 7 For the R47 mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he R48 who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. 8 Then that lawless one will R49 be revealed whom the Lord will slay with R50 the breath of His mouth and bring to an end by the appearance R51 of His coming; F15 9 that is, the one whose coming F16 is in accord with the activity of Satan, R52 with all power and signs R53 F17 and false wonders, 10 and with all F18 the deception of wickedness for those R54 who perish, because they did not receive the love of the R55 truth so as to be saved. 11 For this reason God R56 will F19 send upon them a F20 deluding R57 influence so that they will believe what F21 is false, 12 in order that they all may be judged F22 who did R58 not believe the truth, but took R59 F23 pleasure in wickedness.

13 But R60 we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren R61 beloved by the Lord, because God R62 has chosen you from F24 the beginning for R63 salvation through R64 F25 sanctification by F26 the Spirit and faith in the truth. 14 It was for this He called R65 you through our R66 gospel, that F27 you may gain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brethren, stand R67 firm and hold R68 to the traditions which you were taught, whether by R69 word of mouth or by R69 letter from F28 us.

16 Now R70 may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself R70 and God our Father, who has loved R71 us and given us eternal comfort and good R72 hope by grace, 17 comfort R73 and strengthen R74 your hearts in every good work and word.
