Israel Redeemed

1 But now, thus says the LORD, your Creator, R1666 O Jacob,

And He who formed R1667 you, O Israel,

"Do not fear, R1668 for I have redeemed R1669 you;

I have called R1670 you by name; you are Mine! R1671

2 "When you pass R1672 through the waters, I R1673 will be with you;

And through the rivers, they will not overflow you.

When you walk R1674 through the fire, you will not be scorched,

Nor will the flame burn you.

3 "For I R1675 am the LORD your God,

The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; R1676

I have given Egypt as your ransom,

Cush R1677 F616 and Seba in your place.

4 "Since you are precious R1678 in My sight,

Since you are honored R1679 and I love R1680 you,

I will give other men in your place and other peoples in exchange for your life.

5 "Do not fear, for I R1681 am with you;

I will bring your R1682 offspring from the east,

And gather R1683 you from the west.

6 "I will say to the north, R1684 `Give them up!'

And to the south, `Do not hold them back.'

Bring My sons R1685 from afar

And My daughters from the ends R1686 of the earth,

7 Everyone who is called R1687 by My name,

And whom I have created R1688 for My glory, R1689

Whom R1690 I have formed, even whom I have made."

Israel Is God's Witness

8 Bring out the people who are blind, R1691 even though they have eyes,

And the deaf, even though they have ears.

9 All the nations have gathered R1692 together

So that the peoples may be assembled.

Who among them can declare R1693 this

And proclaim to us the former things?

Let them present their R1694 witnesses that R1695 they may be justified,

Or let them hear and say, "It is true."

10 "You are My R1696 witnesses," declares the LORD,

"And My R1697 servant whom I have chosen,

So that you may know and believe Me

And understand that I R1698 am He.

Before R1699 Me there was no God formed,

And there will be none after Me.

11 "I, even I, am the LORD,

And there is no savior R1700 besides R1701 Me.

12 "It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed,

And there was no strange R1702 god among you;

So you are My witnesses," declares the LORD,

"And I am God.

13 "Even from R1703 F617 eternity I R1704 am He,

And there is none R1705 who can deliver out of My hand;

I R1706 act and who can reverse it?"

Babylon to Be Destroyed

14 Thus says the LORD your Redeemer, R1707 the Holy One of Israel, "For your sake I have sent to Babylon, And will bring them all down as fugitives, Even F618 the Chaldeans, R1708 into the ships R1709 in F619 which they rejoice.

15 "I am the LORD, your Holy One,

The R1710 Creator of Israel, your King." R1711

16 Thus says the LORD, Who makes R1712 a way through the sea And a path through the mighty waters,

17 Who brings forth the chariot R1713 and the horse,

The army and the mighty man

(They will lie down together and not rise again;

They have been quenched R1714 and extinguished like a wick):

18 "Do R1715 not call to mind the former things,

Or ponder things of the past.

19 "Behold, I will do something new, R1716

Now it will spring forth;

Will you not be aware of it?

I will even make R1717 a roadway in the wilderness,

Rivers in the desert.

20 "The beasts of the field will glorify Me,

The jackals R1718 and the ostriches,

Because I have given R1719 waters in the wilderness

And rivers in the desert,

To give drink to My chosen people.

21 "The people whom I R1720 formed for Myself

Will R1721 declare My praise.

The Shortcomings of Israel

22 "Yet you have not called on Me, O Jacob;

But you have become weary R1722 of Me, O Israel.

23 "You have not R1723 brought to Me the sheep of your burnt offerings,

Nor have you honored R1724 Me with your sacrifices.

I have not burdened R1725 you with offerings, F620

Nor wearied you with incense. R1726

24 "You have bought Me not sweet R1727 F621 cane with money,

Nor have you filled F622 Me with the fat of your sacrifices;

Rather you have burdened Me with your sins,

You have wearied R1728 Me with your iniquities.

25 "I, even I, am the one who wipes R1729 out your transgressions for R1730 My own sake,

And I will not R1731 remember your sins.

26 "Put F623 Me in remembrance, let R1732 us argue our case together;

State your cause, that R1733 you may be proved right.

27 "Your first R1734 forefather F624 sinned,

And your spokesmen R1735 F625 have transgressed F626 against Me.

28 "So I will pollute F627 the princes F628 of the sanctuary,

And I will consign Jacob to the ban R1736 and Israel to revilement. R1737
