Isaiah 8:16-22 [ Verse 20 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
16 Bind R302 up the testimony, seal R303 the law F104 among my R304 disciples. 17 And I will wait R305 for the LORD who R306 is hiding His face from the house of Jacob; I will even look eagerly for Him. 18 Behold, R307 I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs R308 and wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells R309 on Mount Zion. 19 When they say to you, "Consult R310 the mediums and the spiritists who whisper and mutter," should not a people consult R311 their God? Should they consult R312 the dead on behalf of the living? 20 To the law R313 F105 and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because they R314 have no dawn. 21 They will pass through the F106 land hard-pressed R315 and famished, and it will turn out that when they are hungry, they will be enraged and curse their F107 king and their God as they face upward. 22 Then they will look R316 to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be driven R317 away into darkness.
