Luke 18:1-8 [ Verse 3 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 And he spake * (5707) a parable unto them to this end, that men ought (5750) always to pray (5738), and not to faint (5721); 2 Saying (5723), There was (5713) in a city a judge, which feared (5740) not God, neither * * regarded (5746) man: 3 And there was (5713) a widow in that city; and she came (5711) unto him, saying (5723), Avenge (5657) me of mine adversary. 4 And he would (5656) not for a while: but afterward he said (5627) within himself, Though I fear (5736) not God, nor * * regard (5743) man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth * (5721) me, I will avenge (5692) her, lest by her continual coming (5740) she weary (5725) me. 6 And the Lord said (5627), Hear (5657) what the unjust judge saith (5719). 7 And shall not God avenge * (5692) his own elect, which cry (5723) day and night unto him, though he bear long (5723) with them? 8 I tell (5719) you that he will (5692) avenge them speedily *. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh (5631), shall he find (5692) faith on the earth?
