Matthew 9:1-8 [ Verse 8 in Original: Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 And he entered (5631) into a ship, and passed over (5656), and came (5627) into his own city. 2 And, behold (5628), they brought (5707) to him a man sick of the palsy, lying (5772) on a bed: and Jesus seeing (5631) their faith said (5627) unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer (5720); thy sins be forgiven (5769) thee. 3 And, behold (5628), certain of the scribes said (5627) within themselves, This man blasphemeth (5719). 4 And Jesus knowing (5631) their thoughts said (5627), Wherefore think (5736) ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is (5748) easier, to say (5629), Thy sins be forgiven (5769) thee; or to say (5629), Arise (5669), and walk (5720)? 6 But that ye may know (5762) that the Son of man hath (5719) power on earth to forgive (5721) sins, * (then saith he (5719) to the sick of the palsy,) Arise (5685), take up (5657) thy bed, and go (5720) unto thine house. 7 And he arose (5685), and departed (5627) to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw (5631) it, they marvelled (5656), and glorified (5656) God, which had given (5631) such power unto men.
