Prosperity Comes from the LORD.

A Song of Ascents, of Solomon.

1 Unless the LORD builds R4139 the house,

They labor in vain who build it;

Unless the LORD guards R4140 the city,

The watchman keeps awake in vain.

2 It is vain for you to rise up early,

To retire F1406 late,

To eat R4141 the bread of painful F1407 labors;

For He gives to His beloved R4142 even R4143 in his sleep.

3 Behold, children R4144 are a gift F1408 of the LORD,

The fruit R4145 of the womb is a reward.

4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, R4146

So are the children of one's youth.

5 How blessed R4147 is the man whose quiver is full of them;

They R4148 will not be ashamed

When they speak R4149 with their enemies in R4150 the gate.
