Psalm 72:2-17 [ Verse 2 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
2 May F723 he F724 judge R2159 Your people with righteousness And Your R2160 F725 afflicted with justice. 3 Let F726 the mountains bring peace R2161 F727 to the people, And the hills, in righteousness. 4 May F728 he vindicate R2162 the afflicted F729 of the people, Save the children of the needy And crush the oppressor. 5 Let F730 them fear You while R2163 the sun endures, And as F731 long as the moon, throughout all generations. 6 May F732 he come down like R2164 rain upon the mown grass, Like showers R2165 that water the earth. 7 In his days may F733 the righteous R2166 flourish, And abundance R2167 of peace till the moon is no more. 8 May he also rule from R2168 sea to sea And from the River to the ends of the earth. 9 Let F734 the R2169 nomads of the desert bow R2170 before him, And his enemies lick R2171 the dust. 10 Let F735 the kings of Tarshish R2172 and of the islands R2173 F736 bring presents; The kings of Sheba R2174 and Seba R2175 offer R2176 gifts. F737 11 And F738 let all kings R2177 bow down before him, All nations R2178 serve him. 12 For he will deliver R2179 the needy when he cries for help, The afflicted F739 also, and him who has no helper. 13 He will have compassion R2180 on the poor and needy, And the lives F740 of the needy he will save. 14 He will rescue R2181 F741 their life F742 from oppression and violence, And their blood will be precious R2182 in his sight; 15 So may he live, and may the gold R2183 of Sheba be given to him; And let them F743 pray for him continually; Let them F743 bless him all day long. 16 May there be abundance of grain in the earth on top of the mountains; Its fruit will wave like the cedars of Lebanon; R2184 And may those from the city flourish like vegetation R2185 of the earth. 17 May his name R2186 endure forever; May his name increase F744 as R2187 F745 long as the sun shines; And let men bless R2188 themselves by him; Let R2189 all nations call him blessed.
