Zephaniah 3:1-7 [ Verse 1 in Original: Hebrew / Greek ]
[ Read Chapter | Discuss these Verses ]
1 Woe to her who is rebellious R90 and defiled, R91 The tyrannical R92 city! 2 She heeded R93 no voice, She accepted R94 no instruction. She did not trust R95 in the LORD, She did not draw R96 near to her God. 3 Her princes R97 within her are roaring lions, Her judges are wolves R98 at evening; They leave nothing for the morning. 4 Her prophets are reckless, R99 treacherous men; Her priests R100 have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law. 5 The LORD is righteous R101 within R102 her; He will do R103 no injustice. Every R104 morning He brings His justice to light; He does not fail. But the unjust knows R105 no shame. 6 "I have cut off nations; Their corner towers are in ruins. I have made their streets desolate, R106 With no one passing by; Their cities R107 are laid waste, Without a man, without R108 an inhabitant. 7 "I said, `Surely you will revere Me, Accept R109 instruction.' So her dwelling will not R110 be cut off According to all that I have appointed concerning her. But they were eager to corrupt R111 all their deeds.
